The Journal of Applied Science and Community Empowerment follows a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and credibility of the articles we publish. The process is conducted as follows:

1. Submission of Manuscripts

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. Each manuscript must adhere to the journal's guidelines.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

The editorial team conducts an initial screening to evaluate the manuscript's suitability based on the journal's focus and scope, as well as adherence to formatting and ethical standards. Manuscripts that fail to meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.

3. Plagiarism Check

All manuscripts undergo a plagiarism screening using reliable plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts exceeding the allowable similarity index will not proceed to the next stage.

4. Peer Review Process

The journal employs a double-blind review process, ensuring anonymity for both authors and reviewers. The steps include:

  • Reviewer Selection: The editor assigns the manuscript to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
  • Review Duration: Reviewers are typically given 2–4 weeks to evaluate the manuscript.
  • Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, significance, methodology, clarity, and alignment with the journal’s focus.

5. Reviewer Recommendations

Based on the reviewers' feedback, the manuscript will receive one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without Revision: The manuscript is suitable for publication as submitted.
  • Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires small adjustments before publication.
  • Major Revisions: The manuscript requires significant changes and must be resubmitted for further review.
  • Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.

6. Decision by Editors

The editorial team reviews the feedback and recommendations from the reviewers to make the final decision. Authors will be notified of the decision along with the reviewers’ comments.

7. Revision and Resubmission

If revisions are required, authors must submit the revised manuscript within the given timeframe. The revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for reevaluation, depending on the extent of the revisions.

8. Final Decision

Once all revisions are satisfactorily addressed, the editorial team makes the final decision to accept the manuscript for publication.

9. Publication

Accepted manuscripts are processed for copyediting, layout, and publication in the next available issue.
